GETTING TO HOLLYWOOD BURBANK AIRPORT:
Also known as Bob Hope Airport, Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR) is a public airport located three miles northwest of downtown Burbank in Los Angeles County. BUR is one of the major airports in Southern California, serving Los Angeles, Glendale, Pasadena, and the San Fernando Valley. While it is not as large or busy as Los Angeles International Airport, travelers enjoy its small size and convenience.
BUR is easily reached via the Hollywood Way exit off of I-5 and the Hollywood Way exit or the Pass Ave exit off of State Route 134. Travelers can also use State Route 170 to access BUR. Vehicles and pedestrians can access the terminal building using either Hollywood Way and Thornton Avenue or via Empire Avenue. Uber, Lyft, and Wingz are all official rideshare providers for BUR, with convenient drop-off locations right in front of the main terminal. In addition to taxi services, travelers can also use the shared-ride shuttles that are owned and operated by Prime Time Shuttle, Roadrunner Shuttle, and SuperShuttle.
The vast public transportation network of the Los Angeles metro area makes it easy to get to and from BUR. There are two bus stops that are located within walking distance of the BUR terminal. The Hollywood Way-Thornton Avenue stop is east of Terminal A while the Empire Avenue/Intermodal stop is south of Terminal B next to the train station. All of the Burbank-bound bus routes connect travelers to downtown Burbank via the Metrolink station.
For commuter train service, Amtrak's Pacific Surfliner and Metrolink's Ventura County Line both serve the Burbank Airport–South station. Because it is located only 1/4-mile from the terminal, travelers can easily access the train station by either walking or through the free shuttle bus with luggage racks. From here, passengers can purchase a ticket on the Ventura County Line to access downtown Los Angeles and Ventura County. Amtrak's Pacific Surfliner also provides access to various points in Southern California, including San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Anaheim, and San Diego.
Travelers can also use Metrolink's Antelope Valley Line. This line stops at the Burbank Airport–North station, located approximately one mile north of the terminal. A complimentary shuttle bus ferries passengers between the station and the terminal. This line serves downtown Los Angeles as well as the Antelope Valley.
