ELP Airport Guide
Less than ten miles from downtown, El Paso International Airport (ELP) connects the Texas city to the world with service from multiple airlines. Southwest is the largest carrier at the airport by far, with flights to numerous destinations including Dallas, Houston, Phoenix, Denver and Los Angeles. No matter which airline, ELP airport remains busy, with over three million passengers in 2010 passing through its gates.
The airport is conveniently located, and is only about four miles from downtown El Paso, Texas. Whether you’re coming from the north, west or southeast, get to El Paso airport easily from Interstate 10 – take Airway Exit (exit 25) and follow signs to reach the airport. For those coming from the east, take US-62 highway until reaching ELP. The airport is also accessible via public transit through Sun Metro bus service, with scheduled routes running from the airport to Downtown Plaza in El Paso.
Previously, Continental Airlines used to have a large presence at ELP, providing service to nearby Southwest cities. While Southwest is now the dominant air carrier at El Paso airport, there are plenty of other major carriers like American, Delta, United, and US Airways flying in and out of El Paso from their hubs.
ELP Airport has one terminal, with two concourses:
- American and Delta flights can be found on Concourse A
- Concourse B hosts Continental/United, Southwest, and US Airways
