Located in Broward County in South Florida, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) primarily serves Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood, and Dania Beach, as well as the busy cruise origination of Port Everglades. FLL is conveniently located three miles southwest of downtown Fort Lauderdale and 21 miles north of Miami. In addition to the major airline carriers that operate out of the region, FLL is also a hub for Spirit Airlines and a focus city for Southwest Airlines, JetBlue, and Allegiant Air.


Travelers can reach FLL via Interstate 595, U.S. Route 1, Florida State Road A1A, and Florida State Road 5, making it an extremely accessible airport when traveling in the region. Visitors can access rideshare services at the designated pick-up and drop-off locations between Terminals 1 and 2 and Terminals 3 and 4. When arriving by train, travelers will access the airport via the Dania Beach train station. This station is served by both Amtrak intercity trains and the local Tri-Rail commuter trains. Tri-Rail also offers a shuttle bus service from the station to three separate lower-level locations at FLL. This shuttle runs every day of the week and is a free service for all Tri-Rail passengers.


The airport is also served by Broward County Transit Bus Route 1. This route runs through the Central Terminal in downtown Fort Lauderdale. Travelers can also access the service to Aventura in Miami-Dade County.

If you are driving to FLL, you are going to want to plan your parking arrangements in advance of your arrival. These lots charge a $10 daily flat rate with payment due when exiting. Note that only credit cards are accepted for payment at these lots.
